Ascension Health is sponsored by six organizations: four provinces of the Daughters of Charity the Congregation of St. Joseph and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Coming together has allowed these Sponsoring Organizations to continue their vital role in the tradition and mission of Catholic healthcare. The creation of a large system also helps ensure the vitality of Catholic hospitals as they continue to serve the needs of their local communities.
